A Home Away From Home
The CYP Mission Statement
To assist DoD military and civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of the accomplishment of the DoD mission and family life by managing and delivering a system of quality, available and affordable programs and services for eligible children and youth birth through 18 years of age.
Family Child Care (FCC) Program
Active duty and Military Affiliated parents are more successful in performing their military mission, secure in the knowledge that their children’s safety, health, and well-being are protected. The JBSA Family Child Care Programs are designed to give parents peace of mind. One of the hallmarks of the FCC program is its ability to tailor the types of care offered to virtually fit every schedule, deployment, or special need.
Attached is a document containing in depth information of the different care options available to active duty and military affiliated families:

Become an FCC Provider
Recruitment of provider candidates interested in caring for children is on-going. Provider candidates living on and off base are welcome to apply. This gives military spouses an opportunity to work at home and support other military families while caring for their own children. We need providers who are willing to care for infants and children (2 weeks to 12 years old), to include children with special needs, such as asthma, allergies, cerebral palsy, and physical impairments, etc. We also recruit providers that are willing to conduct care for children in the evenings, weekends, swing and midnight shifts, and for extended duty hours.
If you have any other additional questions, please feel free to reach out to the JBSA Community Child Care Coordinator at (210) 221-2502.

Congratulations to Ms. Paloma De La Llata (JBSA-Lackland) and Ms. Tammie McIlroy (JBSA-Ft Sam Houston/Randolph) for being selected as the JBSA Family Child Care (FCC) Providers of the Year! When parents are secure in the knowledge their child’s safety, health, and well-being are protected, they are more successful in performing their military mission. We thank all of our JBSA FCC Providers for giving parents peace of mind and for the exemplary care provided to military children!
