JBSA-Lackland Outdoor Recreation is having Workshop Wednesday to teach guests the following skills: How to Maintain Your Bike 101 July 10 | 5:30-6:30 PM Before you hit the trails, come by, and learn what it takes to keep your bike in tip-top shape. This course will go over basic maintenance for both road bikes and mountain bikes. Learn how to take care of your bike and help extend its longevity. Whether you're a pro rider or still have your training wheels, there's something for everyone here. How to Tow and Haul a Trailer Aug. 14 | 5:30-6:30 PM Towing anything can be extremely nerve-racking without proper guidance or experience. Let your fears melt away as we go over the proper way to hitch and tow any equipment with ease. Participants must have a valid Driver's License to participate. Kayaking the San Antonio River April 13 • 8:30 AM to 3 PM JBSA-Lackland Outdoor Rec Did you know there's more to the San Antonio River than just the Riverwalk? Join us as we team up with the San Antonio River Authority to kayak and explore the San Antonio River! Whether it's your first-time kayaking, or you're an expert paddler, you will have the opportunity to learn about the environmental, historical and cultural impacts this river has made to Military City, U.S.ATM. Ages eight and older are welcome to participate. Ages 8-11 must ride in a tandem kayak but ages 12 and older can paddle their own craft. There is limited availability of tandem kayaks. The cost of this program is $20, and it includes roundtrip transportation from Lackland Outdoor Recreation, personal flotation devices and kayak equipment. We are all familiar with "Remember the Alamo," but did you know San Antonio is home to four other historical missions? Join us as we bike along the 14-mile (roundtrip) Hike and Bike trail. We will stop at each mission (about 2.5 miles between each stop) to learn about San Antonio's unique history. Ages 8 years and older welcome. (Must know how to confidently ride a bike 14 miles.) Join us as we visit the world’s most beautiful show cave in Sonora, Texas! We will have an opportunity to tour the marvelous cave and learn about its history in the underground classroom. Similar to Paintball, but without the welts and bruises, Archery Tag is the perfect team-on-team competition for your next squadron event! Teams of up to 20 people at a time are invited to experience this exhilarating game located at the Lackland ODR Paintball Course. You will duck, dodge, and shoot foam-tipped arrows at your opponents until the last team standing wins! Rates start at $200 for groups with up to 10 participants. Groups of 11-20 cost $300.
