Ladies and gentlemen may try one or all triathlon events in the month of May. All events are free and open to all DOD ID cardholders. On May 8 and 9, start small with Triathlon #1 consisting of a 200-meter swim, 3-mile bike ride and 1-mile run. Take the next step May 15 and 16 with Triathlon #2 consisting of a 400-meter swim, 5-mile bike ride and a 2-mile run. Move up to Triathlon #3 on May 22 and 23 consisting of 500-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and a 2.5-mile run. Take the giant leap with Triathlon #4 on May 29 and 30 consisting of 750 meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and a 5-mile run. The bike and run portions may be completed indoors or outdoors. MISERY follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does. Join the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Golf Day Scramble on May 13 at 12:30 p.m. This scramble is a two player format, teams may be mixed. Pro shop will make pairings. (Men=white tees, women=red tees and men 65+=gold tees). Entry fee is $20 and includes food and prizes. All other fees associated with the event are separate.
