Central Post Fitness Center JBSA-Fort Sam Houston January 1-31 Five-Mile Cardio Challenge Mon.-Fri. • 5-6 p.m. • Free Patrons can use treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals, or rowing machines to test their cardio endurance and to complete this challenge. Each patron is to make sure a staff member records their time and distance. Prizes will be given to the person with the longest distance on each piece of equipment at the end of the month. Bench Press Competition Mon., Wed., and Fri. • 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Free Patrons are invited to come out to see who can bench the most weight. There will be categories for men and women but no weight class. Each patron is to make sure a staff member verifies the weight benched. The man and woman who lift the most weight will be awarded a prize at the end of the month. Events are open to all DOD ID Cardholders. EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL DOD ID CARDHOLDERS. NO FEES REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE

WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY JBSA Lackland Outdoor Recreation will be workshopping and providing “How To’s” over various useful outdoor skills. The cost of these workshops is $15. HOW TO BUILD A FIRE 101  Jan. 15 ● 5:30-6:30 p.m. We will be learning about how to build a proper campfire. This course will go over several fire building methods, fire safety, and conservation with a sweet surprise at the end! HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BIKE 101  Feb.  12 ● 5:30-6:30 p.m. Before you hit the trails, come by and learn what it takes to keep your bike in tip-top shape. This course will go over basic maintenance for both road bikes and mountain bikes. Come learn how to take care of your bike and help extend its longevity with us. Whether you’re a pro rider or still have your training wheels, there’s something for everyone here.
