Patriot Day of Remembrance

502d Force Support Squadron Presents Patriot Day Day of Remembrance 2023   Sept. 1-30 | 3-7 p.m. Youth Programs honors every life that was taken too soon during the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy. Their courage embodies the American spirit, resilience, and their heroism continues to inspire new generations of Americans. Youth are encouraged to create photos, artwork, poems and messages that will honor first responders who answered the call of duty, and the brave civilians who rushed into action to save lives that day. All of the creations will be displayed throughout the building during the month.

502d Force Support Squadron Presents Pre-Teen Mega Lock-In Oct. 13-14 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. At JBSA—FSH W. Ed Parker Youth Programs | $35 Per Youth WHO’S AFRAID OF A FRIENDLY GHOST OR GOBLIN? W. Ed Parker Youth Program Torch & 4-H Clubs are hosting the Halloween-themed Lock-In. Dress in your favorite costume and get ready to have a scaringly, fun-filled evening. This is open to registered members ages 9-12. Register in CYPBMS by Oct. 11.

JBSA Fort Sam Houston School-Age Care Program is collecting donations from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15. In partnership with Serenity Oak Assisted Living and Memory Care to give back to the community. All donations accepted. Please ensure items are new - no used items will be accepted. Children will deliver gifts and visit with residents on Dec. 22 from 2-4 p.m. For more information and a list of acceptable items to donate, call (210) 2211-5151.

After School Bowling Special

FSH Bowling Center

The Fort Sam Houston Bowling Center is running an after school bowling special on Thursdays and Fridays from 4-7 p.m., now until the end of the school year. Cost is $10 per person and includes one game of bowling, shoe rental and a hot dog combo. This special is open to all DOD ID cardholder students and their families. School Age Care provides a safe, enriching and supervised environment for children and youth during out-of-school time. Accredited by the Council On Accreditation (COA), and as members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4-H, we provide your child with optimal program opportunities. We maintain an atmosphere that encourages flexibility and allows freedom of choice within appropriate guidelines. We strive to reinforce family values and emphasize the uniqueness of each child by promoting positive attitudes and validating self-worth. We accomplish this mission through a devoted team of trained professionals guided by a curriculum specialist and program managers to ensure child development strategies are implemented for the growth and development of children in a safe, happy, and caring environment. The School Age Programs include: Before and After School School’s half-days or full-out Summer Day Camp Our before and after school program provides breakfast and an afternoon snack and on full days and summer day camp lunch is provided. Regularly-scheduled activities of arts and crafts, nature and science, music, drama, S.T.E.A.M. and sports and fitness are all part of our curriculum.
