SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS BIKE TOUR Sept. 21 ● 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. You probably know you should always, “Remember the Alamo”, but did you know San Antonio is home to four other historical missions? Join us as we bike along the paved “Hike and Bike” trail totaling 14 miles roundtrip! We will stop at each mission (about 2.5 miles away from one another) to learn about San Antonio’s unique history. Ages 8 years and older are welcome (must know how to confidently ride a bike and ride 14 miles). The cost of this program is $30, and it includes roundtrip transportation from Lackland Outdoor Recreation, bikes, and safety equipment. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 13 or when filled. Friday Night Flicks: The Sandlot Aug. 30 • 8:15 PM JBSA-Lackland Famcamp Friday Night Flicks: Guardians of the Galaxy Sep. 27 • 8:15 PM JBSA-Lackland Famcamp Join us for a screening of The Sandlot on Aug. 30 and Guardians of the Galaxy on Sept. 27. Bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket to sit on. The movies will begin shortly after dusk in the field next to the FamCamp office, bldg. 2804. Lost Maples Hike

LOST MAPLES FOLIAGE HIKE Nov. 2   Did the leaves in your yard go from green to brown this year? Join us in exploring some of the most beautiful fall foliage Texas has to offer! We are headed to Lost Maples State Park to embark on a four-mile hike along the Sabinal River. This moderate to challenging hike will give you views of red, orange, and yellow maple leaves that will put the trees in your yard to shame! The cost of this program is $30. Patrons of all ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). This program includes roundtrip transportation from Lackland Outdoor Recreation (start to be determined) to Lost Maples State Park with a guided interpretive hike covering four miles of the park. Archery Tag

Archery Tag JBSA-Lackland Outdoor Recreation Center 309 Oscar Westover Rd., Bldg. 871 Lackland AFB, TX 78236 Lackland ODR has an Archery Tag, which is similar to paintball, but without the welts and bruises. Archery Tag is the perfect team-on-team competition for your next squadron event. Teams of up to 20 people at a time are invited to experience this exhilarating game located at the Lackland ODR Paintball Course. Payment includes face mask, bow & arrow rental, and two hours of fun! Padre Island Camping and Fishing Trip

CAMPING AND FISHING AT PADRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE Jan. 25-26 ● 6 a.m. Come with us on an overnight shore fishing trip to the beautiful Texas Coast. We will be traveling down to the Padre Island National Seashore to enjoy some shore fishing and camping overnight. Spend the afternoon and evening fishing or just hanging out. You can watch the sunset over the waves and sleep under the stars. Outdoor Recreation will provide all the fishing equipment you need to test your luck. The cost of this program is $125. All ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). The program includes roundtrip transportation to and from Padre Island, entrance for the National Seashore, camping permits, camping and fishing gear, dinner and breakfast. *A Texas Park and Wildlife Fishing License is required to fish. Each patron will receive the tools to create a planter with soil ad a plant and take-home instructions. Stillman Park Camping Adventure

Get ready for an unforgettable night under the stars, camping at our very own Stillman Park on JBSA Lackland. Featuring an exciting outdoor movie experience! This fun-filled adventure is designed for kids and families new to camping and offers the perfect introduction to the great outdoors in a safe, welcoming environment. Kids will learn basic camping skills such as setting up a tent and getting familiar with sleeping outside. Families will get to make a simple dinner, breakfast, and campfire snacks teaching kids how to enjoy food cooked outdoors in a fun and engaging way. As night falls, we’ll settle in for a family-friendly outdoor movie under the stars! Kids can enjoy the magic of cinema surrounded by nature, all while cozying up in blankets and enjoying a picnic-style atmosphere. Activities will be led by trained staff, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the event. We’ll provide everything needed for a cozy, fun night out in nature, including tents, sleeping mats, and bags. The cost of the event is $30 per person.
