502d Force Support Squadron Presents Lifeguard Course JBSA-FSH Aquatic Center   Earn Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED certification during these sessions   This Red Cross class is designed for people interested in being certified as a lifeguard and for employment as a GS-2 lifeguard for the summer of 2025. Participants must be 15 or older to sign up for the course. Participants must: • Swim 150 Meters, tread water for two minutes without use of your arms, followed by a 50-meter swim. (Continuous No Breaks In-between) • Complete a 20-meter Swim, retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool and return to the starting point. Must complete within one minute and 40 seconds   9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All Course Days Are Mandatory For Each Session   Session #1 January 4, 5, 11 & 12 Session #2 February 1, 2, 8 & 9 Session #3 March 1, 2, 8 & 9 Session #4 March 22, 23, 29 & 30 $180 per person (Card Only) Successful completion of a pretest is required for enrollment. WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY JBSA Lackland Outdoor Recreation will be workshopping and providing “How To’s” over various useful outdoor skills. The cost of these workshops is $15. HOW TO BUILD A FIRE 101  Jan. 15 ● 5:30-6:30 p.m. We will be learning about how to build a proper campfire. This course will go over several fire building methods, fire safety, and conservation with a sweet surprise at the end! HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BIKE 101  Feb.  12 ● 5:30-6:30 p.m. Before you hit the trails, come by and learn what it takes to keep your bike in tip-top shape. This course will go over basic maintenance for both road bikes and mountain bikes. Come learn how to take care of your bike and help extend its longevity with us. Whether you’re a pro rider or still have your training wheels, there’s something for everyone here.

WINTER 5K RUN/WALK Jan. 18 • 9:30 a.m. Head out to beautiful, serene Canyon Lake for a fun 5K run/walk. Entry for the 5K and entry into the Park are free. There will be drawings for three cash prizes: $500, $250 and $125. Everyone who participates will be entered into the drawings. License to Carry License to Carry a Handgun Class (LTC) Jan. 11 & 25 and Feb. 8 & 22 • 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. License to Carry a Handgun classes are held at Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation. Eligible students must: Be at least 18 years old to register for the class and to apply for the license. Be familiar with their firearm - no first-time shooters.
