American Red Cross Lifeguard Course

LAK Skylark Aquatic Center

Earn Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED certification of classes. March 8-10 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is mandatory to attend every day of the course. Successful completion of a pretest is required for enrollment. The pre-test will be given the first day of class and must be passed. Cost for this course is $180 per person. This Red Cross class is for people interested in being certified as a lifeguard and for employment as a GS-2 lifeguard for the summer of 2024. Participants must be 15 or older to sign up for the course. Participants must: Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles allowed. Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs. Complete a timed event within 1 min 40 secs. Swim goggles are not allowed. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards Surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-lb object. JBSA-Lackland Gateway Club hosts Variety Night as DJ Tony Style plays a wide variety of music from 4-10 p.m. Friday nights in the Lone Star Lounge. Order great food and beverages from the Bar Menu. Spring Break Junior School of Golf

Spring Break Junior School of Golf March 11-15 • Randolph Oaks Golf Course PGA Teaching Pro Charles Bishop will conduct a junior golf school during spring break. Youth ages 8-15 are invited to participate and learn all aspects of the game. Fundamentals such as stance, grip, and posture will be covered as well as the swing, putting, and chipping strokes. Super Sweet Spring Break March 12-16 • 2 - 3 PM JBSA-Randolph Library Join us for a week full of fun activities for the kids all centered around sweets, candies and Kawaii. The week will feature a variety of events, including an Iron Chef challenge, life-size "Candyland" game, candy bar Indi car challenge, Hello Kitty & Kawaii crafts, super sweet friendship bracelets, and much more!
