WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY JBSA Lackland Outdoor Recreation will be workshopping and providing “How-to’s” over various useful outdoor skills. The cost of these workshops is $15. EARTH DAY GARDENING April 22 ● 5:30-6:30 p.m. Join us for a fun and creative way to celebrate sustainability by crafting your own recycled planters on Earth Day! By combining sustainability with creativity, you will learn how to reduce waste and cultivate your own green spaces in a fun and educational way. The cost of the event is $15. Each patron will receive the tools to create a planter with soil ad a plant and take-home instructions. Golf Cart Decorating Contest & Parade

The event has been moved to April 26 Join us for an egg-citing morning of creativity and fun! It’s time to get your golf carts dressed up in their Easter best for our Golf Cart Decorating Contest!  Decorate your cart with your own Easter-themed decorations—think bunnies, eggs, flowers, and more!  After the contest, we’ll have a parade around the park to show off all the festive carts.  Prizes await the winners, so bring your A-game! Kayak & Paddle Board Class

Recreation Park @ Canyon Lake

April 26 Please join us at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake at the Hancock Cove Beach for a two-hour class on kayaks and paddle board safety and operation. This class is required in order to rent kayaks and paddle boards. After completion, each guest will receive a certification card. This card must be presented each time you rent the equipment. The cost for the class is $20 per person. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a sponsor during the class and during equipment rental. Stillman Park Camping Adventure

Get ready for an unforgettable night under the stars, camping at our very own Stillman Park on JBSA Lackland. Featuring an exciting outdoor movie experience! This fun-filled adventure is designed for kids and families new to camping and offers the perfect introduction to the great outdoors in a safe, welcoming environment. Kids will learn basic camping skills such as setting up a tent and getting familiar with sleeping outside. Families will get to make a simple dinner, breakfast, and campfire snacks teaching kids how to enjoy food cooked outdoors in a fun and engaging way. As night falls, we’ll settle in for a family-friendly outdoor movie under the stars! Kids can enjoy the magic of cinema surrounded by nature, all while cozying up in blankets and enjoying a picnic-style atmosphere. Activities will be led by trained staff, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the event. We’ll provide everything needed for a cozy, fun night out in nature, including tents, sleeping mats, and bags. The cost of the event is $30 per person.
