JBSA-Lackland Youth Programs includes programming for School Age care, Youth Sports, Teen Programs and extra curricular activities. Youth Programs implements activities targeting recreational, educational and pro-social programs designed to promote self-esteem, character development, healthy lifestyles, academic excellence, leadership and fitness.

First Steps Development Program
First Steps is a non-competitive, instructional and development program for all DOD children ages 3-5 that runs for six weeks. First Steps teaches fundamentals of three sports; baseball, soccer and basketball in harmony with the gross motor movements of preschool and early school-age children. Parents are required to participate as an extension of the instructor. Sessions are one hour each. Parents select the date and time for each session.
