June Weight Lift Challenge June 15 • 9:30 AM • Free JBSA-Fort Sam Houston METC Fitness Center Men and women attempt to lift 1000 lbs. and 500 lbs., respectively, in a combined bench press, deadlift and squat challenge. 502d Force Support Squadron Presents 2023 CENTRAL POST MAY & JUNE EVENTS Tire Flip Competition | May 6-31 | Mon. - Fri. | 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Free Patrons are encouraged to try to flip the tire as many times as they can in a two-minute time frame. There will be two categories for Men and Women. Patrons must make sure that a staff member is available to verify the amount of tire flips within the two-minute time frame. Central Post July Events The Fort Sam Houston Central Post offers two great challenges further your efforts toward your New Years resolution. Bench Press Competition • Free July 1-31 • Mon., Wed., and Fri. • 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patrons bench press the most weight during the month in categories for men and women. A staff member must verify weight lifted. The winners in each category are awarded a prize at the end of the month. Five-Mile Cardio Challenge • Free July 1-31 • Mon.-Fri. • 5-6 p.m. Challenge yourself on treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals and rowers for distance. A staff member must verify distance completed. Prizes awarded to the contestant with the longest distance on each piece of equipment at the end of the month. Events are open to all DoD ID cardholders. For more information, call (210) 221-3593.

The JBSA-FSH Jimmy Brought Fitness Center is hosting the very first indoor doubles tournament, non-gender specific, on Joint Base San Antonio. Registration opens June 4 and closes 9 July, space is limited in each category. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 8a.m., play schedules will be sent out prior to event day. Elliptical Mile Challenge August • Normal duty hours JBSA-Fort Sam Houston METC Fitness Center METC Fitness Center patrons complete as many miles as they can on an elliptical machine at a minimum resistance level of 5.0. Sign up at the front desk. Place completed miles in the binder at the front desk. The patron with the highest mileage will be awarded a prize. Open to all DoD cardholders ages 18 and older.
