STAR GAZING May 11 | 10-11 p.m. See the solar system and beyond like never before though powerful telescopes. This time of year we should have excellent views of many of the planets in our solar system as well as constellations and deep space objects. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Start time may vary or be rescheduled due to weather or low visibility. Registration is required. Canyon Lake Annual Pass

Purchase a Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Park at Canyon Lake annual pass for $100. Buy one and enjoy the lake all year. This pass gets you into the both Sunny Side and Hancock Cove sides of the facility. Otherwise, the daily entry fee for the park is $15 per visit, per vehicle. Annual passes include a vehicle and boat/ trailer pass and are valid for one year from date of issue. You can also buy a spousal pass for an additional $35 as long as they are over 18 and have a valid DoD ID card. For more information, call (830) 226-5357.

Boat Driving Course Sept. 7 & Oct. 26 • 10 AM to noon and 1-3 PM JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake Join us at Canyon Lake at the Hancock Cove Marina for a 2-hour course covering everything you need to know about boat operation, rules of the water, and safety guidelines. Sept. 14 | Oct. 5 Please join us at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake at the Hancock Cove Beach for a two-hour class on kayaks and paddle board safety and operation. This class is required in order to rent kayaks and paddle boards. After completion, each guest will receive a certification card. This card must be presented each time you rent the equipment. The cost for the class is $20 per person. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a sponsor during the class and during equipment rental.
