JBSA-Lackland Gateway Hills Golf Course Presidents Day Golf Special Feb. 19 | 7:30 AM All active-duty military receive $10 off an 18-hole round of golf with the rental of a golf cart or $5 off an 18-hole round of golf if walking. The price for Twilight Golf is $5 off whether using a cart or walking.

JBSA-Lackland Skylark Student Activity Center Mardi Gras Celebration Feb. 24 • 7-11 PM Get ready to sing and dance the night away! Let's celebrate in true New Orleans fashion. There will be live music in Club ABU as well as games and prizes! Students are encouraged to show up in masks and green, purple and gold attire. Tech school students only.

Earn Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED certification of classes. March 8-10 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is mandatory to attend every day of the course. Successful completion of a pretest is required for enrollment. The pre-test will be given the first day of class and must be passed. Cost for this course is $180 per person. This Red Cross class is for people interested in being certified as a lifeguard and for employment as a GS-2 lifeguard for the summer of 2024. Participants must be 15 or older to sign up for the course. Participants must: Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles allowed. Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs. Complete a timed event within 1 min 40 secs. Swim goggles are not allowed. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards Surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-lb object.
