FSH Central Post Gym

Central Post Fitness Center JBSA-Fort Sam Houston January 1-31 Five-Mile Cardio Challenge Mon.-Fri. • 5-6 p.m. • Free Patrons can use treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals, or rowing machines to test their cardio endurance and to complete this challenge. Each patron is to make sure a staff member records their time and distance. Prizes will be given to the person with the longest distance on each piece of equipment at the end of the month. Bench Press Competition Mon., Wed., and Fri. • 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Free Patrons are invited to come out to see who can bench the most weight. There will be categories for men and women but no weight class. Each patron is to make sure a staff member verifies the weight benched. The man and woman who lift the most weight will be awarded a prize at the end of the month. Events are open to all DOD ID Cardholders. EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL DOD ID CARDHOLDERS. NO FEES REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE

Padre Island Camping and Fishing Trip

CAMPING AND FISHING AT PADRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE Jan. 25-26 ● 6 a.m. Come with us on an overnight shore fishing trip to the beautiful Texas Coast. We will be traveling down to the Padre Island National Seashore to enjoy some shore fishing and camping overnight. Spend the afternoon and evening fishing or just hanging out. You can watch the sunset over the waves and sleep under the stars. Outdoor Recreation will provide all the fishing equipment you need to test your luck. The cost of this program is $125. All ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). The program includes roundtrip transportation to and from Padre Island, entrance for the National Seashore, camping permits, camping and fishing gear, dinner and breakfast. *A Texas Park and Wildlife Fishing License is required to fish. Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation

License to Carry License to Carry a Handgun Class (LTC) Jan. 11 & 25 and Feb. 8 & 22 • 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. License to Carry a Handgun classes are held at Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation. Eligible students must: Be at least 18 years old to register for the class and to apply for the license. Be familiar with their firearm - no first-time shooters. Meet federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. The cost of the class is $80. JBSA Youth Baseball & T-Ball Registration

Hey kids! Are you ready to step up to the plate and hit a home run? Sign up for baseball/t-ball with JBSA Youth Programs and join a team where you'll make friends, learn new skills, and have tons of fun. Whether you're just starting out or already know how to swing a bat, our coaches will help you improve your game while you enjoy exciting practices and thrilling games. You’ll run the bases, catch pop flies, and maybe even slide into home for the winning score! The cost is $70 per youth 5 and older. A current sports physical, immunization record and flu vaccine are required at time of registration. Register in CYPBMS by March 22. Practices begin the week of March 24. Fort Sam Houston Independent School District (FSHISD) Board of Trustees Vacancy Jan. 27-Feb. 21 Fort Sam Houston Independent School District (FSHISD) Board of Trustees are now accepting nominations for one vacant seat. FSHISD is seeking a dedicated and community-focused individual to join its Board of Trustees. The positions must be filled by either a military member or DoD civilian living on or employed by Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. To qualify for the board, a volunteer must: • Be a qualified voter • Take the official oath of office • Serve without compensation Trustee will take an official oath of office and serve without compensation for 2 years. Leave the casino at 5 am, stop in Katy at Buccees for breakfast on your own, and return to RAN at noon on January 19th. Rate: $130 per person.
