100-Ton Club

RND Rambler Fitness Center

Come out to the Rambler Fitness Center to try to join the 100 -Ton Club. The Club consists of members who have lifted 100 tons or more in one day. That's right; patrons must lift 100 tons of weight on any free-weight or plate-loaded machine in one day. The 100 tons are achieved by multiplying the amount of weight used for an exercise by the number of repetitions for that exercise. Giveaways are provided while supplies last. American Red Cross Lifeguard Course

LAK Skylark Aquatic Center

Earn Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED certification of classes. March 8-10 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is mandatory to attend every day of the course. Successful completion of a pretest is required for enrollment. The pre-test will be given the first day of class and must be passed. Cost for this course is $180 per person. This Red Cross class is for people interested in being certified as a lifeguard and for employment as a GS-2 lifeguard for the summer of 2024. Participants must be 15 or older to sign up for the course. Participants must: Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles allowed. Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs. Complete a timed event within 1 min 40 secs. Swim goggles are not allowed. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards Surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-lb object.
