LOST MAPLES FOLIAGE HIKE Nov. 2   Did the leaves in your yard go from green to brown this year? Join us in exploring some of the most beautiful fall foliage Texas has to offer! We are headed to Lost Maples State Park to embark on a four-mile hike along the Sabinal River. This moderate to challenging hike will give you views of red, orange, and yellow maple leaves that will put the trees in your yard to shame! The cost of this program is $30. Patrons of all ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). This program includes roundtrip transportation from Lackland Outdoor Recreation (start to be determined) to Lost Maples State Park with a guided interpretive hike covering four miles of the park. Kayak & Paddle Board Class

Recreation Park @ Canyon Lake

Nov. 2 | Dec. 7 Please join us at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake at the Hancock Cove Beach for a two-hour class on kayaks and paddle board safety and operation. This class is required in order to rent kayaks and paddle boards. After completion, each guest will receive a certification card. This card must be presented each time you rent the equipment. The cost for the class is $20 per person. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a sponsor during the class and during equipment rental. Star Gazing

Recreation Park @ Canyon Lake

STAR GAZING November 2 | 8 p.m. December 7 | 7 p.m. See the solar system and beyond like never before through powerful telescopes. This time of year we should have excellent views of many of the planets in our solar system as well as constellations and deep space objects. License to Carry Classes

Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation

License to Carry Handgun classes are held at the Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC). Students must be age 18 or older to register for the class unless they are active-duty military. You need to be familiar with your firearm; no first-time shooters. Students must also meet federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. The cost of the class is $80. Successful completion of the class is recommended prior to purchasing a handgun. November 9 10:30am - 12:30pm An adventure of indoor bouldering awaits our military members at the Austin Bouldering Project, located in Austin TX. Veterans Day BBQ
