Come out to the Rambler Fitness Center to try to join the 100 -Ton Club. The Club consists of members who have lifted 100 tons or more in one day. That's right; patrons must lift 100 tons of weight on any free-weight or plate-loaded machine in one day. The 100 tons are achieved by multiplying the amount of weight used for an exercise by the number of repetitions for that exercise. Giveaways are provided while supplies last. ROCK CLIMBING AT MEDICINE WALL Feb. 22 ● 8 a.m. Did you know that we have a rock-climbing area local to San Antonio? We will be hosting an opportunity for you and your family to rock climb at the Medicine Wall, located off the Salado Creek Greenway on 1604. Whether you’re a novice with little to no climbing experience, or an expert looking for a belay partner, ODR has your needs covered! The cost of this program is $30. Patrons ages eight and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). This program includes roundtrip transportation from Lackland Outdoor Recreation to Medicine Wall, climbing equipment rentals, and instruction. Deadline to sign up is Jan. 26 or when full. License to Carry License to Carry a Handgun Class (LTC) Jan. 11 & 25 and Feb. 8 & 22 • 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. License to Carry a Handgun classes are held at Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation. Eligible students must: Be at least 18 years old to register for the class and to apply for the license. Be familiar with their firearm - no first-time shooters. Meet federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. The cost of the class is $80. Home Alone Class Feb. 5 • 5:30-6:30 p.m. This class gives youth, ages 10-18 the basic tools and knowledge to confidently stay at home alone! This is a free class. For more information, call (210) 671-2388. Youth Babysitting Course Feb. 22 • 8:30 a.m. to noon Youth Programs is offering the Red Cross Babysitters Course for youth ages 11 and older. Learn about care for infants and children, basic first aid, child behavior, emergency protocols, professionalism, leadership concepts, and age-appropriate activities. The cost is $40 for active members. Sign up in CYPBMS by Feb. 19. Only 10 spots will be offered.

Mardi Gras Party Feb. 28 • 4-11 p.m. Celebrate Mardi Gras with us in the Lone Star Lounge and listen to some great music by DJ Tony Style. The food special of the night includes fried fish, jambalaya, hush puppies, coleslaw and corn bread. The cost for the food special is $10 for members or $12 for nonmembers.

March 1 Please join us at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake's Hancock Cove Beach for a two-hour class on kayak and paddle board safety and operation. This class is required in order to rent kayaks and paddle boards. After completion, each guest will receive a certification card. This card must be presented each time you rent the equipment. The cost for the class is $20 per person. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a sponsor during the class and during equipment rental.
