JBSA-Lackland Gateway Hills Golf Course April 5 8 a.m. shotgun start Don't be fooled by the title, the Gateway Hills Golf Course Greenskeepers want revenge! The individual stroke play tournament costs $65 per player. This fee included cart, greens fees and prizes. Registration is through The Greens at JBSA App and the deadline to register is April 4. 3D Archery Shoot April 5 & 6 JBSA-Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation Center 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 3D Archery Range features 30 life-like animal targets including bears, black panthers, deer, and alligators. Targets are set up at various distances between 5 & 55 yards. 3D archery is open to the General Public. Traditional (Long Bows and Recurve Bows( and Compound Bows are allowed but No Crossbows. Camp Bullis ODR has Recurve Bows available to rent for $20 each. Registration is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants may start the course as soon as they register. Cost is: $5 for E1-E4, active-duty or medically retired $15 for ages 13 and older $5 for youth ages 12 and younger

Learn how to drive a boat safely at the JBSA Recreation Park @ Canyon Lake Hancock Cove Marina. This two-hour boat driving course covers boat operation, rules of the water and safety guidelines. The Great Texas Freedom Fest scheduled for April 2025 Community members will have the opportunity to explore Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston at the Great Texas Freedom Fest on April 12 from 3-9:30 p.m. The installation will open its gates to the public for this event, free to all who attend. The theme is “United in Service,” and the open house will feature live music, food trucks, museum tours, military demonstrations, and family activities.
