Every first Friday of the month in 2023 JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Golf Course hosts a golf scramble. The cost for all DOD ID cardholders and golf course members is $35. Cost for nonmembers is $45. The price includes green fee, golf cart and a social with lunch after the round. This class is for people who want to learn how to teach swimming lessons. This Red Cross class is one of the required certifications to be hired as a GS-3 WSI at JBSA Pools. Cost is $180 per person. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke and 20 yards of butterfly at the Level 4 to get in the class. All Outdoor Recreation Centers require a Boaters Safety Course certificate from Texas Parks and Wildlife in order for customers to rent their boats. License to Carry a Handgun classes are held at the Camp Bullis Rod-N-Gun Recreation Center (RNGRC). Students must be age 21 or older to register for the class unless they are active-duty military. You need to be familiar with your firearm; no first-time shooters. Students must also need federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. The cost of the class is $80. Successful completion of the class is recommended prior to purchasing a handgun.
