25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Theater May 10-26 The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in Putnam Valley Middle School. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a fast-paced crowd pleaser and an instant theatre patron favorite. Come join in the fun at the Fort Sam Theatre, building 2270. Reservations are not necessary for DOD ID cardholders. Civilian reservations must be made no later than Tuesday at 5 p.m. to gain gate access for the weekend shows. Tickets available for purchase one-hour prior to show time. Archery Range Thurs. - Mon. • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Outdoor Recreation offers an outdoor archery range with targets ranging from 10 to 60 yards at 10-yard intervals. The targets at the range are crossbow rated. A daily pass is $5 The cost for an annual pass is $6 and $75 for a family of two. Each additional family member is $5. A DoD ID cardholder can sponsor up to two non-DoD ID cardholders for $5 per person. The Range at Camp Bullis is 100% ID check. all guests must report to ODR and present a DoD ID card. Trail Rides at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Equestrian Center. By Appointment only/Reservations required. No Experience Required. $30 per person for DoD ID cardholders, ages 7 & older. (Adults must accompany children younger than age 13). Riders must be at least 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weigh no more than 200 pounds All trail rides are guided at a walking pace Check-in at the office at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time Open-toed or dress shoes are not permitted for riding; boots or closed-toed shoes are required; tennis/running shoes may be worn Riding double is not permitted All riding and safety instructions are given before riders depart Trail rides may be terminated if a rider fails to follow trail guide instructions Trail rides will be cancelled for safety reasons to include but not limited to heat or heat index in excess of 100° F, lightening, rain or mud If you would like to set up a weekday trail ride, the cost is $40.
