Becoming Youth of the Year JBSA Youth Programs This prestigious program is designed to inspire and nurture tomorrow's leaders and encourages teenagers who are passionate about leadership, community service, volunteerism, and personal excellence to apply for the chance to become the next JBSA Youth of the Year. Interested Teens must contact their youth center by Oct. 11 to begin their application. Strongest Competition

LAK Warhawk Fitness Center

This Challenge consists of Deadlifts, Farmers carries and sandbag carry-over the bar and tire flips.  Open to ages 18 and older and includes categories for men and women.  The deadline for registration is COB Oct. 4th and the entry fee is $40.  Payment and registration can be made at the Warhawk Fitness Center.  For additional information contact POCs Tayler Harvey at tayler.harvey@us.af.mil or Willie Mastin at willie.mastin.1@us.af.mil.

Give Parents a Break/Parents Night Out

Give Parents a Break (GPAB) and Parents Night Out (PNO) Child and Youth Programs can give parents that much-needed break through the GPAB or PNO Programs. Cost is $35 per child with a sibling discount or FREE with a Give Parents a Break referral. The last day to register in CYPBMS is the Wednesday prior to the event. Columbus Weekend Bowling Special

JBSA Randolph Bowling Columbus Day Galactic Bowling Special Oct. 12 • 5-9 p.m. Come out to the JBSA-Randolph Bowling Center on Columbus Day Weekend and celebrate with the Galactic Bowling special (BOGO, bowl one hour and get one hour free). Does not include rental shoes. The Bowling Center is closed on Columbus Day Oct. 14.

Columbus Day Golf Tournament

Columbus Day Two-Person Scramble Oct. 14 • 8 a.m. start Join us on Columbus Day for this fun two-person shamble format. In this format, each player hits the tee shot, then selects the best option of the two and then each team member plays their own ball from that point through the hole. Players will record the lower of the two scores. The cost to enter this tournament is $20 per person plus greens and cart rental fees. Net and gross will be paid to teams that place. Fall Camp Registration (School Age Care)

Do you need care for your children during Thanksgiving Break? Patrons can request a slot for camp starting Oct. 14 by logging on to MilitaryChildCare.com and selecting the preferred location. Requests will be taken until full. Fees are based on total family income. The Thanksgiving Camp is held Nov. 25-27. Nov. 29 is the “AETC Family Day” and space will be offered on a reservation-only basis. First Steps Basketball Registration

Children ages 3-4 learn the fundamentals of basketball in a non-competitive/team format developmental program. Parents are required to participate as an extension of the instructor.
