Registration/check-in is at 7:30 a.m. inside the Jimmy Brought Fitness Center. EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL DOD ID CARDHOLDERS. NO FEES REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.

February Fitness Challenges     The Fort Sam Houston Central Post offers two great challenges further your efforts toward your New Years resolution. Bench Press Competition • Free Feb. 1-29 • Mon., Wed., and Fri. • 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patrons are invited to come out to see who can lift the most weight. There will be categories for men and women but no weight class. Each patron is to make sure a staff member verifies the weight lifted. The man and woman who lift the most weight will be awarded a prize at the end of the month. Five-Mile Cardio Challenge • Free Mon.-Fri. • 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Patrons use treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals or rowing machines to test their cardio endurance to complete this challenge. Fitness staff must record their time and distance. Prizes awarded at the end of the month to the person with the longest distance on each piece of equipment. We're doing this fun run for all the lovers! Bring out everyone you love...spouse, girlfriend, kids, dog or nosey neighbor. Let's paint the streets with Valentine colors, so wear pink and/or red. Registration/check-in is at 7:30 a.m. inside the Jimmy Brought Fitness Center.

Eligible men and women are welcomed to compete in a free lifting challenge hosted by METC Fitness Center. Respectively, in a combined bench press, dead lift and squat challenge, men’s weight lifting goal is 1000 lbs and women’s weight lifting goal is 500 lbs. Prizes are awarded to the top lifters in each category. Registration is encouraged and can be completed at the METC Fitness Center. For more information, call (210) 808-5709.

JBSA-FSH METC Fitness Center Saint Patrick's Day 5K Run/Walk March 16 • 8 AM Wear your best St. Pat's Day outfit! Dogs on leashes and strollers are welcomed. This event begins and ends at the Pershing Field Building #3212. Prizes awarded for top male/female finishers. Transportation will be provided for students, volunteers and other participants.
