25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Theater May 10-26 The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in Putnam Valley Middle School. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a fast-paced crowd pleaser and an instant theatre patron favorite. Come join in the fun at the Fort Sam Theatre, building 2270. Reservations are not necessary for DOD ID cardholders. Civilian reservations must be made no later than Tuesday at 5 p.m. to gain gate access for the weekend shows. Tickets available for purchase one-hour prior to show time. Armed Forces 5K Run/Walk May 11 • 8 a.m. Come out and represent your branch of service in the 5K which takes place at the Pershing Field near bldg. 3212. Transportation provided for students, volunteers and participants  from the Aquatic Center starting at 7:15 a.m. Meet at Pershing Field no later than 7:30 a.m. This event is no cost and open to all DOD ID cardholders and guests.  Prizes awarded to top male and female competitors. 502d Force Support Squadron Presents R4R Ziplining at Helotes Hill Country Ziplines May 11 • June 8 • July 13 • Aug. 10 • Sep. 14 | 9 AM This event is only open to Active Duty personnel Participants will have the opportunity to zip over the Texas Hill Country, climb towers 14-45 feet tall and feel the rush of speeds up to 35 miles per hour.
