Earn Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED certification of classes. March 8-10 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is mandatory to attend every day of the course. Successful completion of a pretest is required for enrollment. The pre-test will be given the first day of class and must be passed. Cost for this course is $180 per person. This Red Cross class is for people interested in being certified as a lifeguard and for employment as a GS-2 lifeguard for the summer of 2024. Participants must be 15 or older to sign up for the course. Participants must: Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles allowed. Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs. Complete a timed event within 1 min 40 secs. Swim goggles are not allowed. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards Surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-lb object. We are all familiar with "Remember the Alamo," but did you know San Antonio is home to four other historical missions? Join us as we bike along the 14-mile (roundtrip) Hike and Bike trail. We will stop at each mission (about 2.5 miles between each stop) to learn about San Antonio's unique history. Ages 8 years and older welcome. (Must know how to confidently ride a bike 14 miles.) Pick-A-Pro Tournament April 6 • 8 a.m. to 12:30 tee times Individuals participating in this year’s event will blind draw a PGA Professional that made the cut at the Masters’ Golf Tournament. Format is individual stroke play. Scoring per hole is the combination of the golfer’s score and the Pro’s score. The lowest combined scores are the winners. Entry fee is $25 per person.
